Lens protectors save the most-damaged part of your phone.
iPad blurry photos? Start with simple fixes before assuming hardware failure.
Smudges and dust are the #1 cause of blurry photos. Use a soft cloth (microfiber) to gently wipe the rear camera lens. Do the same for the front camera on the top bezel.
Some protective cases slightly cover the camera. Remove the case and test. If photos are sharp without it, the case is the culprit.
The camera might not be focusing. Tap the screen to set focus on your subject. If focus locks, it's a technique issue. If it won't focus, autofocus is likely broken.
Close the Camera app completely. Go to Settings → Camera → toggle Record Video off and on. Restart the app and test.
A restart sometimes restores autofocus. Volume Up → Volume Down → hold Power 10 seconds, release, wait for boot.
If the lens focuses physically but photos stay blurry, or if autofocus won't engage at all, the autofocus motor is broken. Cost: $120–$180 for rear camera replacement.
