⚠️ iPad repairs are advanced:
  • Screen is glued with strong adhesive — requires heat
  • Glass can shatter further during removal

📋 Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Heat the Edges

Use a heat gun on LOW or a hair dryer on HIGH. Heat one edge for 2-3 minutes. The goal is to soften the adhesive, not melt components. Keep the heat moving.

💡 Tip: Start with the top edge, away from the home button and cameras.
2

Insert a Guitar Pick

While the edge is warm, attach a suction cup and lift slightly. Insert a guitar pick or plastic pry tool into the gap. Slide it along to break the adhesive.

3

Work Your Way Around

Heat the next section, insert another pick, repeat. Leave picks in place to prevent re-sealing. This takes patience!

4

Watch for Cables!

The digitizer cable is usually near the home button (bottom). The LCD cable is on the side. Don't pry too deep or you'll tear them.

5

Lift the Screen

Once all edges are free, carefully lift the screen. It will still be connected by cables. Lay it face-down next to the iPad.

6

Disconnect Cables & Remove Screen

Remove any shields covering the connectors. Disconnect the digitizer and LCD cables. Remove the old screen.

7

Clean & Prep

Remove old adhesive from the frame. Clean with isopropyl alcohol. Apply new adhesive strips.

8

Install New Screen

Connect the new screen's cables. Test it before sealing! Once confirmed working, remove adhesive backing and press screen into place firmly.
