Step 2: Mark Your Opening Pick
If inserted too far, an opening pick can damage your device. Use tape or a marker to mark 3mm from the tip of your pick to prevent inserting it too deeply.

Step 3: Tape Over Cracks (If Applicable)
If your iPhone has a cracked screen, keep further breakage contained and prevent bodily harm by taping over the glass with clear packing tape.

Step 4: Heat the Bottom Edge
Use a hair dryer on low to heat the bottom edge of the iPhone for 90 seconds, or until it's slightly too hot to touch. This softens the adhesive holding the screen.

Step 5: Apply Suction Handle
Apply a suction handle to the bottom edge of the screen, while avoiding the very edge of the glass. Pull firmly to create a small gap.

Step 6: Insert Opening Pick
Insert an opening pick into the gap you created. Don't insert it more than 3mm (use your marked pick).
Step 7: Heat the Right Edge
Use a hair dryer to heat the right edge of the iPhone (the edge with the power button) for 90 seconds or until the screen is slightly too hot to touch.

Step 8: Separate Right Adhesive
Slide the opening pick around the bottom right corner of the iPhone to separate its adhesive. Leave the pick in place to prevent re-sealing.

Step 9: Heat and Separate Top Edge
Heat the top edge for 90 seconds, then slide the pick around the top right corner to separate the top adhesive.

Step 10: Heat Left Edge Carefully
Heat the left edge for 90 seconds. Use the gentle "prying" technique rather than picks: carefully lift the screen from the right side while the left edge separates naturally.

Step 11: Open the iPhone
Once all adhesive is separated, open the iPhone from the right side like a book. The left edge has flex cables that act as hinges - do NOT try to fully remove the screen yet.
Step 12-20: Disconnect Cables
The remaining steps involve disconnecting the battery and display cables using your Y000 screwdriver and spudger. Work carefully and note the position of each connector.
- Remove the battery connector cover screws (1.3mm)
- Disconnect the battery connector using a spudger
- Remove the display cable cover screws
- Disconnect the OLED panel connector
- Disconnect the digitizer connector
- Disconnect the front sensor connector
Step 21-25: Transfer Components
Your new screen doesn't include the earpiece speaker or sensor assembly. Transfer these from your old screen:
- Remove the earpiece speaker screws
- Remove the earpiece speaker
- Carefully peel off the sensor assembly
- Transfer both to the new screen
Step 26-29: Reassembly
Reverse the process to reassemble:
- Connect all display cables
- Replace connector covers and screws
- Reconnect the battery
- Apply new adhesive strips
- Press screen firmly into place
- Replace the pentalobe screws
✅ Testing Your Repair
- Power on and check for display issues
- Test Face ID functionality
- Test all touch areas of the screen
- Check True Tone (may need calibration)
- Test earpiece speaker during a call
