iPhone SE (3rd Gen) Screen Replacement
Replace your cracked iPhone SE (2022) display. The budget-friendly model with Touch ID and A15 chip in the classic iPhone 8 form factor.

- Display: 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD
- Resolution: 1334 x 750 pixels, 326 ppi
- Type: LCD (not OLED)
- Features: True Tone, Wide color (P3)
- Home Button: Touch ID (must be transferred)
💡 SE Advantage: The iPhone SE uses LCD technology, making replacements more affordable than OLED models. The design is also simpler to repair than newer iPhones.
SE Generations
⚠️ Make sure you have the right model:
- SE 3rd Gen (2022): A2595, A2782 - covered in this guide
- SE 2nd Gen (2020): A2275, A2296 - see SE 2nd gen guide
- SE 1st Gen (2016): Different design entirely
- SE 2nd and 3rd gen screens are interchangeable
Tools Required
- Pentalobe screwdriver (P2)
- Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
- Phillips #000 screwdriver
- Suction cup
- Plastic pry tools / spudger
- Tweezers
- Heat gun or iOpener (optional, less adhesive than newer models)
- iPhone SE 3rd gen LCD replacement screen
Replacement Process
- Power off the iPhone
- Remove two pentalobe screws next to Lightning port
- Optionally heat edges to soften adhesive
- Use suction cup to gently lift display
- Open from bottom, screen hinges at top
- Disconnect battery before other work
- Remove display cable bracket and disconnect
- Transfer Home Button/Touch ID (CRITICAL)
- Transfer earpiece speaker and sensors
- Install new display
- Test Touch ID before sealing
Touch ID Transfer
⚠️ CRITICAL: The Home Button with Touch ID is paired to your iPhone's logic board. You MUST transfer your original Home Button to the new screen. A new Home Button will work as a button but Touch ID will NOT function.
