Tools Required

  • Pentalobe screwdriver (P2)
  • Tri-point Y000 screwdriver
  • Phillips #000 screwdriver
  • Suction cup
  • Plastic pry tools / spudger
  • Tweezers
  • Heat gun or iOpener
  • iPhone XR LCD replacement screen

Replacement Process

  1. Power off the iPhone
  2. Remove two pentalobe screws at bottom
  3. Heat edges to soften adhesive
  4. Open from RIGHT side (hinges on left)
  5. Support display at ~90°
  6. Disconnect battery first
  7. Remove display brackets and disconnect cables
  8. Transfer Face ID/earpiece assembly
  9. Install new display
  10. Test Face ID and touch before sealing
